Quantity Surveyor – Large Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking a senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation, budgeting and quantity surveying for large‑scale infrastructure projects across India. The role will support AECOM’s delivery of complex civil, structural and MEP works, ensuring financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and forecasts for large infrastructure projects.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and measurements for civil, structural and MEP activities.
• Validate contractor‑submitted quantities, manage interim payment certificates and final accounts.
• Evaluate tender documents, contractor bids and recommend award decisions.
• Identify cost risks, conduct value‑engineering studies and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage contract variations, claims and change orders ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
• Conduct site visits to verify work progress and ensure accurate valuations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field (mandatory); Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in quantity surveying for large‑scale infrastructure such as airports, malls or commercial complexes.
• Proven experience in cost control, contract administration and project supervision.
• Certification in quantity surveying or cost management (e.g., RICS, CIQS) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IS codes, FIDIC and other contractual frameworks.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to manage stakeholders and contractors.
• Familiarity with live‑environment cost control for operational airports or malls.
