About the role
The Quality NDT Engineer (SUP-CWC) is responsible for performing non‑destructive testing and quality inspections on coated pipes to ensure they meet customer specifications, project requirements, and international standards. The role supports safe and efficient plant operations by detecting defects, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with production and QA teams.
Key responsibilities
- Perform NDT inspections on pipes and welded joints in line with approved procedures, customer specifications, and ISO 9712 standards.
- Conduct Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT) Level II and evaluate results for acceptance or rejection.
- Inspect coated pipes during all stages of the Concrete Weight Coating (CWC) process.
- Identify, record, and report surface defects, coating damages, discontinuities, and non‑conformities.
- Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), project specifications, and quality procedures before inspection activities.
- Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, and Operations to ensure timely inspections and resolution of quality issues.
- Verify dimensional parameters, coating integrity, surface preparation, and workmanship.
- Prepare inspection reports, NDT records, and non‑conformance reports (NCRs) while maintaining traceability documentation.
- Support customer representatives and third‑party inspection agencies during audits.
- Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and used according to approved procedures.
- Assist in root‑cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and HSE policies.
Required profile
- Proven experience in NDT inspections, particularly Dye Penetrant Testing (Level II).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9712 and other relevant international standards.
- Ability to read and interpret inspection/test plans, specifications, and quality procedures.
- Excellent coordination skills with production, QA/QC, and operations teams.
- Capability to prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Understanding of safety and quality management systems in an industrial environment.
