Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

The Quality Assurance Engineer will support the Quality Manager in day‑to‑day quality operations, lead shift QC teams, and ensure strict adherence to internal SOPs, ISO 9001:2015 and BRCGS Packaging standards. The role focuses on CAPA, root‑cause analysis, customer complaint resolution, documentation, calibration and continuous improvement to reduce defects, waste and Cost of Poor Quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Manager and direct a team of shift QC Inspectors to execute sampling plans and clear material on time via SAP.
• Review and countersign shift reports, communicate HOLD batches, and ensure defect‑free material flow.
• Conduct master‑folder studies, highlight concerns for new jobs, and coordinate with sales and back‑office for corrections.
• Own the CAPA workflow, applying 8D, 5‑Whys and Fishbone analysis to document deviations and complaints.
• Monitor finished‑goods inventory, prepare scrap notes with CAPA, and liaise with stakeholders.
• Prepare SOPs for testing equipment, compile audit documentation for ISO 9001 and BRCGS, and maintain calibration schedules.
• Train QA and production teams on COA criticality, documentation requirements and waste reduction.
• Compile quality performance data, generate monthly COPQ and rejection rate reports for top management.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting a Quality Manager or HOD in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead and coordinate shift QC teams and communicate effectively across night and day crews.
• Strong analytical mindset with hands‑on experience in CAPA, root‑cause analysis and non‑conformance handling.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, BRCGS Packaging standards and internal audit processes.
• Excellent documentation skills for SOPs, audit reports and performance dashboards.
