QC Lab Engineer

About the role

The QC Lab Engineer will work in a metallurgical laboratory environment, performing mechanical and metallography tests on tube and steel products. The role ensures that all test activities comply with internal standards and ISO/IEC 17025 guidelines while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and log test samples; perform mechanical tests according to internal and external standards.
• Prepare specimens for microstructure analysis (cutting, mounting, polishing, etching) and conduct microstructure examinations such as grain size, %Fe, and inclusion analysis.
• Check concentrations of water, acid and alkaline solutions; prepare test reports and enter results into the PPC system.
• Execute retests, replicate tests, IMC, ILC and participate in proficiency testing as required by ISO/IEC 17025.
• Coordinate third‑party inspections, verify product test certificates, and maintain daily heat‑treatment records.
• Distribute quality documents, manage incoming inspection and PDC processes, and follow EHS guidelines.
• Operate mechanical and metallography equipment safely and report any abnormalities to supervisors.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in sample preparation, mechanical testing and metallography.
• Diploma or BE in Metallurgy Engineering.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 quality management systems.
• Basic knowledge of tube manufacturing processes and steel material standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
