QA/QC Engineer – Solar PMC

About the role

The QA/QC Engineer will establish, implement and monitor the Quality Management System for a gigawatt‑scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The role audits the EPC contractor, manages Field Quality Plans and ensures material testing eliminates non‑conformances before energisation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor ITP/FQP implementation, inspection requests, method statements and material acceptance records.
• Conduct quality surveillance for civil, tracker, module, DC/AC/MV and SCADA/control‑system records, including test activities based on approved quality controls.
• Register and monitor NCRs, observations, corrective/preventive actions, concession/deviation status and closure evidence.
• Verify calibration certificates, test reports, inspection records and quality dossiers prior to completion recommendations.
• Coordinate hold/witness point status with discipline engineers, EPC quality teams and client representatives, and report quality trends affecting commissioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of QA/QC experience on utility‑scale solar PV plants, with 2–3 years on large‑scale solar fields (150 MW+).
• Certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (AWS/CSWIP), NDT Level II (UT, PT, MT) and ISO 9001:2015 training are highly preferred.
• Prior experience in major Indian solar parks is advantageous.

Required skills

• Quality Management System (QMS) implementation.
• Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and Field Quality Plans (FQP).
• Non‑conformance Report (NCR) and Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA) handling.
• Calibration certificate verification and test report review.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, welding inspection and NDT techniques.
