Purchase Manager – Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

About the role

The Purchase Manager will lead end‑to‑end category management and strategic sourcing for capital equipment, MRO and spare‑parts across greenfield and rebuild projects. You will own the full equipment build cycle, from sourcing components to supporting in‑house assembly and trial runs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead category management and strategic procurement for capital equipment, MRO and spare‑parts, preparing budgets and market research to shape category strategies.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard strategic suppliers, conduct risk assessments, and develop alternative sources to de‑risk supply chains.
• Maintain framework agreements, SLAs, price‑benchmarking tools and should‑cost models; manage supplier performance and claims.
• Collaborate with design, production and quality teams during assembly and trial phases to ensure technical conformity and resolve part deviations.
• Drive digital transformation using SAP HANA (MM & SH) and JAGGAER modules, manage vendor onboarding, EDI data exchange and train internal teams on digital procurement tools.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP HANA procurement modules (MM & SH).
• Experience using JAGGAER for RFX, auctions, SRM, supplier evaluation and spend analytics.
• Knowledge of EDI‑based data exchange and digital procurement platforms.
