Purchase Manager – Procurement Lead

About the role

The Purchase Manager leads the procurement function for the ICD Jaipur, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and quality acquisition of all materials, spare parts, consumables, fuels, lubricants, civil and electrical items, tyres, batteries, equipment, and services required for uninterrupted terminal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop annual, quarterly and monthly procurement plans aligned with operational, maintenance and project needs.
• Review purchase requisitions for completeness, prioritize based on business criticality and convert them into purchase orders within defined cycle times.
• Manage procurement of mechanical spare parts and heavy‑equipment components for reach stackers, forklifts, cranes, trucks, generators and related assets.
• Coordinate with the Mechanical Maintenance team to forecast demand, maintain optimal stock levels and minimise equipment downtime.
• Oversee end‑to‑end procurement of fuels, lubricants and industrial oils, negotiate supply contracts and implement cost‑control measures.
• Supervise procurement and lifecycle management of tyres, batteries, chargers and other fleet consumables.
• Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate commercial terms and ensure statutory compliance.
• Control procurement costs and monitor inventory to support optimal working capital.
