Public Health RN – Perinatal Home Visiting

About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Public Health Registered Nurse to join the West Central Health District’s Perinatal Home Visiting Program. The RN will provide case management and nursing care to high‑risk perinatal women and infants through home visits and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver case management and nursing services following public health protocols.
• Conduct home visits, perform physical assessments, take vital signs, and monitor fetal health.
• Provide breastfeeding education, counseling, and referrals to social and health services.
• Perform basic laboratory screenings and maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community partners, and emergency preparedness teams.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in nursing (or higher) and active RN licensure.
• Experience in perinatal, maternal‑child health, or home‑visiting nursing preferred.
• Willingness to travel to county health departments in the West Central district.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently under supervision.
