Project Purchasing Engineer / Executive

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Engineer / Executive to lead project purchasing activities for mechanical components, machinery building and sub‑assemblies at our Sanand facility. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end procurement, cost optimisation and supplier development across a range of casting, machining and forging parts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage component and part development, including new part development (NPD) and vendor development.
• Conduct cost negotiations, zero‑based costing and strategic sourcing for mechanical components.
• Prepare and execute RFQ processes, evaluate suppliers and lead techno‑commercial discussions.
• Coordinate with central purchasing, material teams and project stakeholders to meet quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Represent the purchasing function in new product development projects (PEP) and ensure alignment with engineering requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical component procurement, preferably with casting, machining or forging parts.
• Proven track record in cost negotiation, zero‑based costing and strategic sourcing.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, quality and production teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
