Project Nurse III / Assistant Nursing Superintendent

About the role

The Project Nurse III / Assistant Nursing Superintendent will support the NMR Sankalp Project’s goal of reducing neonatal mortality in north Karnataka. Working closely with nurse mentors and health‑care personnel, the role combines field mentoring, training, data quality oversight and quality‑improvement planning.

Key responsibilities

• Travel twice a month to study districts in north Karnataka to provide onsite mentoring and supportive supervision to nurse mentors and health‑care staff.
• Deliver training and capacity‑building sessions for nurse mentors and health‑care personnel in participating facilities.
• Assess and strengthen the competencies of health‑care staff as needed.
• Mentor research health personnel and project assistants.
• Design and implement quality‑improvement initiatives aligned with project objectives.
• Review facility data for accuracy, completeness, consistency and timeliness.
• Assist the central team with project‑related data entry tasks.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Community Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Obstetric Nursing, Public Health or a BSc in Nursing with experience in obstetrics and paediatrics.
• Fluency in English, Kannada and Hindi.
• Availability to join by 1 August 2026.
