Project Engineer – Operations Engineering (East India)

About the role

Amazon’s Projects team is looking for a Project Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of new and expanded facilities across the East India region. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget while adhering to Amazon’s high engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site selection and feasibility assessments in collaboration with the Real Estate team.
• Manage all phases of the project life‑cycle – assessment, design, execution, and performance qualification.
• Prepare and submit scope of work, cost estimates, and CAPEX requests for approval.
• Coordinate with Project Management Consultants, procurement, and vendors to secure resources and materials.
• Monitor on‑site activities, track progress, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Drive standardisation, energy‑conservation, and productivity‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain budget adherence and aim for zero lost‑time incidents (LTI).
• Provide weekly progress reports and support the launch team for facility hand‑over.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing construction or industrial projects, preferably in green‑field, brown‑field, or improvement formats.
• Strong understanding of statutory, legal, and safety compliance for large‑scale facilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with real‑estate, procurement, and operations teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on cost‑effective delivery.
