Project Controls Head

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Controls Head to lead integrated project controls across major energy and infrastructure programmes in India. The role will establish governance, systems and leadership across planning, cost control, risk management and performance reporting, ensuring alignment with AECOM’s global delivery framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated programme controls across major energy and infrastructure programmes in India, aligning with AECOM global standards.
• Develop and maintain integrated master schedules (Level 1‑4) using Primavera P6 and MS Project, monitoring critical paths and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Establish and manage cost control systems, implement Earned Value Management, and ensure accurate forecasting and financial governance.
• Drive programme‑level risk and change management, overseeing risk identification, mitigation and change control processes.
• Produce timely performance reports, KPI dashboards and executive updates for senior leadership and clients.
• Champion digital tools such as BIM, Power BI and AI‑enabled analytics to enhance data‑driven decision making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; postgraduate qualification in Project Management preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in project controls, planning or programme management on large‑scale infrastructure or energy projects, with at least 7 years in leadership roles.
• Proven delivery across renewable energy, transmission & substation, and hybrid energy systems.
• Willingness to travel across project locations in India and internationally.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Project.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI.
• Experience with BIM and AI‑enabled analytics.
• Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost control.
