Project Controller – Finance & Project Management

About the role

Alstom is seeking a full‑time Project Controller for its Coimbatore site. You will use your financial and project‑management expertise to safeguard the financial health of projects, work closely with cross‑functional teams, and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with operations teams on mitigation actions.
• Identify and drive savings opportunities to improve project gross margins.
• Coordinate with bids/tender teams to provide financial inputs.
• Ensure tax compliance and execute tender tax assumptions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare periodic project reviews with comprehensive financial analysis.
• Control and optimise project results in partnership with Project Managers.
• Review and analyse balance‑sheet items linked to projects.
• Manage project hedging to limit exposure.
• Guarantee accuracy of actuals and estimates to complete.
• Lead standardisation, automation and continuous improvement of project reviews.
• Steer Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) performance.

Required profile

• CA or CMA qualification with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience with SAP FI and MM modules.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, risk assessment and project optimisation.
• Familiarity with hedging and treasury operations (desirable).
• Previous team‑management experience (desirable).
• Background in a manufacturing MNC (desirable).
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and accurate.
