Professors of Practice – Faculty Positions in Engineering & Science

About the role

BITS Pilani and its other campuses invite senior industry experts to join as Professors of Practice. The role focuses on designing and delivering niche elective courses that bring cutting‑edge industry practices into the academic environment, helping students tackle real‑world challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and teach niche elective courses that bridge industry advancements with academic curricula.
• Integrate real‑world problems and industry‑driven projects into classroom teaching.
• Collaborate with BITS Pilani’s industry immersion schemes, practice schools, and consultancy activities.

Required profile

• Senior industry professionals (e.g., CEO, CTO, VP, Principal Scientist, Senior Research Scientist) with at least a Master’s degree in engineering, science, humanities or a related field.
• Age 50 years or older.
• Demonstrated deep domain knowledge and a strong track record in the relevant technical area; PhD desirable but not mandatory.
• Exceptional entrepreneurial or start‑up experience may also be considered.
