Production Technician

About the role

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Production Technician to join its manufacturing team in Kancheepuram, India. The role focuses on assembling and testing electrical control panels that power a wide range of industrial equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret work orders, schematics and one‑line diagrams to assemble electrical control panels with high accuracy.
• Perform functional, I/O, load and high‑power testing on assembled panels, ensuring all parameters meet specifications.
• Handle energisation of high‑power panels following strict safety protocols, including PPE and lockout‑tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Troubleshoot issues during testing using wiring diagrams and implement corrective actions.
• Operate and validate components such as transformers, circuit breakers, relays and PLC systems under test conditions.
• Prepare detailed test reports and maintain documentation for traceability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to report defects, design gaps and process inefficiencies.
• Uphold 5S and safety standards throughout the assembly and testing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an ITI certification in a relevant technical discipline.
