Production Officer – Shift Operations

About the role

The Production Officer supports the shift operation team to meet daily production targets while ensuring safety, product quality, and continuous improvement in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve shift production volumes in collaboration with the operation team.
• Operate and monitor critical plant equipment using the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Record process parameters in predefined formats and SAP.
• Prepare raw materials, verify and charge them at the charging point.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform visual inspections, and attend breakdowns with maintenance support.
• Support preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, and plant housekeeping following 5S.
• Participate in emergency response drills, fire‑fighting drills, and root‑cause analysis activities.
• Conduct in‑process and finished‑goods sampling and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
• 4–5 years of experience in batch or continuous chemical operations, preferably with solid/powder handling and extruder operation.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and EHS best practices.
• Good verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Use of SAP for data entry and reporting.
• Implementation of 5S workplace organization.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
• Root‑cause analysis, risk assessment, and Pre‑Startup Safety Review (PSSR).
• Knowledge of batch and continuous process control.
