Product Designer – Materials & Design Systems

About the role

Hipcouch is looking for an experienced Product Designer (6–8 years) to join its Mumbai studio. Working directly with the Studio Head and senior designers, you will translate creative concepts into production‑ready material collections and modular design templates that empower interior designers to deliver fast, consistent solutions for end‑clients.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design exclusive collections of veneers, tiles, fabrics, and surface finishes from concept through prototype.
• Create modular design templates, material palettes and standardized assemblies for in‑house interior designers.
• Partner with manufacturers, craftsmen and vendors to validate manufacturing feasibility, review samples and ensure high‑quality execution.
• Develop detailed specification sheets, swatch kits, application guidelines and digital material libraries for internal deployment.
• Research tactile trends, material technologies and spatial aesthetics to keep Hipcouch’s proprietary lines forward‑thinking.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of hands‑on experience in product, industrial, surface or textile design.
• Educational background from premier design institutes such as NID, NIFT, MIT Institute of Design or equivalent.
• Strong systemic mindset with the ability to build modular, repeatable design frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD/3D modeling tools: Rhino, SolidWorks, KeyShot, 3ds Max.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
