Product Design Engineer

About the role

As a Product Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing and developing plastic and sheet‑metal components for signal connectors used in consumer applications. You will support both new product development and the maintenance of existing products, working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive development of new and legacy signal products, collaborating with supervisors on design modifications and innovations.
• Lead the Product Development Process (PDP) and coordinate with product management, engineering, manufacturing, and applications.
• Translate customer needs and Voice of Customer (VOC) insights into concrete design goals.
• Conduct and participate in conceptual, DFM, DFMEA/PFMEA, design, and phase‑gate reviews.
• Create detailed CAD models, drawings, specifications, and test documentation.
• Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and liaise with global manufacturing plants.
• Perform signal‑integrity and thermal‑performance analyses to ensure product reliability.
• Utilize advanced CAD tools (NX/ECTR), SAP, and presentation/analytics tools for decision support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E.) with at least 3 years of product development experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to work independently.
• Effective oral and written communication skills for professional environments.

Required skills

• NX CAD (including ECTR) and Teamcenter.
• SAP and PLM/ERP systems.
• Finite Element Analysis tools such as Hypermesh or Ansys.
• Signal‑integrity analysis.
• Thermal‑performance analysis.
