Product Design Engineer

About the role

Welspun World (Sintex) is seeking a Product Design Engineer to drive the development, improvement and validation of plastic products used in water storage, energy enclosures, infrastructure and utility applications. You will translate customer and business requirements into manufacturable designs while ensuring functional, structural and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, engineering drawings and detailed design documentation for new and existing products.
• Perform design calculations, simulations and performance analyses to verify functional and structural integrity.
• Support prototype development, testing and validation, and resolve design gaps identified during trials.
• Improve existing product designs for performance, quality, cost efficiency and ease of installation.
• Maintain accurate design records, revision histories and BOMs, and manage design libraries.
• Collaborate with production, quality, procurement and tooling teams during design transfer and industrialisation.
• Provide technical support to sales and business teams, including customisation and tender‑based design assistance.
• Assist field teams with installation guidelines, assembly drawings and on‑site issue resolution.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Product Design or related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to conduct calculations and simulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
