Procurement Specialist – Direct Materials

About the role

CAPGRID is seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist to manage the end‑to‑end sourcing of direct materials for its consumer‑durables operations. The role ensures uninterrupted supply, optimal inventory levels and cost‑effective purchasing to meet customer demand.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute procurement of direct materials, aligning with customer requirements and safety‑stock targets.
• Release purchase orders, monitor supplier schedules and track material receipts to guarantee OTIF deliveries.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives and monitor key procurement KPIs such as freight premium and inventory control.
• Maintain supplier performance records, conduct regular reviews and update MIS and scorecards.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Stores, Logistics, Quality and Finance to ensure smooth material flow and timely payments.
• Ensure accurate procurement documentation, supplier master data and ERP records while adhering to compliance standards.

Required profile

• 2–10 years of experience in direct‑material procurement or purchasing within the consumer‑durables industry.
• B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent bachelor’s degree.
• Strong understanding of procurement planning, supplier management and inventory control.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
