Procurement Operations Specialist

About the role

IBM Finance & Operations is seeking a Procurement Operations Specialist to support purchase order processing and tactical sourcing activities. You will work closely with IBM clients and external suppliers, ensuring compliance with IBM procurement policies while delivering efficient purchasing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Receive purchase requests from IBM clients, negotiate with suppliers, and process purchase orders in line with procurement policies.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal clients and external suppliers through clear written and verbal communication.
• Identify and resolve issues in the purchasing workflow to minimize impact on client experience.
• Utilize IBM procurement tools to document supplier information and manage purchase order data.
• Clear aged open purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices for suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Experience with tactical sourcing, supplier negotiations, and purchase order processing.
• Knowledge of specific commodity categories, market intelligence, and benchmarking.
• Strong problem‑determination abilities to address purchasing challenges.

Required skills

• Familiarity with procurement‑related tools for PO processing and documentation.
