Procurement Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to support fleet operations, ensuring timely and accurate procurement for vessels worldwide. This hands‑on role works closely with Procurement Managers, Vessel Managers and suppliers to deliver reliable services to the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities aligned with vessel schedules, avoiding delays.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, quotations and follow‑up.
• Collaborate daily with Procurement Managers and Vessel Managers on operational needs.
• Obtain competitive quotations and challenge inconsistencies to support cost control.
• Coordinate with suppliers on delivery status, documentation and issue resolution.
• Resolve routine and urgent supply issues, escalating when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, systems and approval workflows.
• Monitor order and invoice status for accuracy and timely processing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and service delivery.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of maritime procurement or purchasing experience.
• Familiarity with vessel operations, spares and logistics.
• Experience using procurement systems such as BASSnet or similar.
• Strong organisational and follow‑up discipline.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• BASSnet procurement system (or similar).
