Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will manage the end‑to‑end purchasing process for a network of schools, ensuring that goods and services are sourced cost‑effectively, on time, and in line with quality, compliance and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition through delivery and payment.
• Prepare and process purchase orders for consumables, educational resources, equipment and subscriptions.
• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base, assessing and monitoring vendor performance.
• Track local and international orders, ensuring on‑time delivery and compliance with import/customs requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, quotations, pricing data and supplier contracts for audit purposes.
• Control expenditures against budget codes and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing to secure cost‑effective contracts.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with group policies, internal audit standards and local regulations.
• Collaborate with school heads, facilities, IT and academic departments to understand procurement needs.
• Liaise with finance for invoice verification and timely payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field.
• Experience in procurement, vendor management or purchasing within an educational or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control and compliance requirements.
