Procurement Manager – Printing & Packaging

About the role

The company is seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing, purchasing and material management of printed packaging solutions. The role combines strategic supplier negotiation with day‑to‑day inventory control to support uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, source and procure cartons, labels, pouches, corrugated boxes and other printed packaging materials in line with production schedules and demand forecasts.
• Manage purchase orders, lead times, supplier deliveries and material availability to ensure continuous production flow.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms and service‑level agreements to achieve cost optimisation.
• Oversee inventory planning, safety stock, MRP inputs, stock ageing, obsolescence and turnover.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams for receipt, inspection, storage, binning and dispatch, applying FIFO/FEFO principles.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, Planning and R&D teams on material specifications, sample approvals and issue resolution.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery and service, driving vendor development and continuous improvement.
• Conduct vendor audits and ensure compliance with approved specifications and procurement processes.
• Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records using ERP/SAP and advanced Excel.
• Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, quality standards and relevant procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Printing Technology or Printing & Packaging (mandatory).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in packaging procurement, preferably with printed packaging materials.
• Strong knowledge of cartons, labels, pouches, corrugated boxes, printing processes and packaging specifications.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Proven vendor negotiation, commercial, analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.
