Procurement Manager – Plant Operations

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead the end‑to‑end sourcing function for a manufacturing plant, ensuring timely, cost‑effective acquisition of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, capital equipment and services. The role works closely with production, maintenance, finance and project teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of raw materials, consumables, engineering items, chemicals, packaging and related services.
• Oversee CAPEX purchases such as machinery, equipment, plant expansions and infrastructure projects.
• Handle OPEX procurement including maintenance materials, utilities, AMCs and routine operational items.
• Prepare and evaluate RFQs, RFPs and RFIs; conduct vendor identification, registration and performance reviews.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions and delivery schedules.
• Issue purchase requisitions, purchase orders, work orders and service orders on time.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Monitor procurement budgets, lead times and inventory levels; implement cost‑reduction strategies.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and audit standards.
• Analyse market trends and supply‑chain risks to support strategic decisions.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
• MBA in Supply Chain/Operations is an added advantage.
