Procurement Lead (Maritime Fleet)

About the role

Wilhelmsen is seeking a Procurement Lead to manage day‑to‑day procurement activities for its global maritime fleet. Based in Mumbai, you will support the Procurement Manager in delivering cost‑effective solutions while ensuring high stakeholder satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Procurement Officers.
• Ensure procurement transactions meet agreed service level agreements.
• Coordinate with Vessel Managers, technical teams, suppliers and logistics partners to guarantee timely delivery of goods and services.
• Monitor team KPIs, performance metrics and resource planning.
• Support sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with procurement procedures, systems and governance requirements.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of maritime procurement experience, including logistics or supervisory exposure.
• Hands‑on shipping or sailing experience.
• Relevant degree, diploma, FE qualification or CIPS certification.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Analytical, results‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• BASSnet or similar procurement system.
