Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will lead the supply chain for large‑scale solar EPC projects, ensuring that materials and services are sourced, delivered, and managed cost‑effectively and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
• Assess risks and apply mitigation measures to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Forecast material needs, coordinate with suppliers, and monitor progress for uninterrupted supply.
• Oversee procurement of solar panels, trackers, inverters, BESS, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate transportation and delivery of materials to project sites and maintain an optimized inventory system.
• Resolve logistics issues to minimise project disruptions.
• Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with project managers, engineers, finance, quality, and operations teams.
• Monitor supply‑chain costs, analyse cost‑effectiveness, and identify savings opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering or related field (master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of supply‑chain experience, including 4‑5 years in solar EPC.
• Relevant certification (CSCP, CPSM, etc.).

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP and SAP systems.
• Experience using supply‑chain software tools.
• Strong procurement, logistics and inventory‑management capabilities.
• Vendor management and contract negotiation expertise.
• Cost‑control and budgeting skills.
