Procurement Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Engineer to lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for our construction projects. The role ensures timely availability of civil, mechanical, electrical and hydro‑mechanical equipment and materials while complying with project specifications, budgets and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project procurement strategies aligned with schedules and budgets.
• Manage procurement of civil, mechanical, electrical and hydro‑mechanical equipment and materials.
• Source, evaluate and select qualified suppliers and contractors; lead RFQ, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation and award processes.
• Build and maintain a reliable vendor database; conduct vendor assessments, qualification and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, construction and store teams to identify procurement requirements and track milestones.
• Oversee logistics, customs clearance and site delivery; ensure uninterrupted material flow and optimize inventory levels.
• Prepare procurement budgets and forecasts; monitor expenditures and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
• Identify procurement risks, develop mitigation plans and ensure business continuity through alternate sourcing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement for construction or engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical and hydro‑mechanical equipment procurement.
• Ability to manage budgets, forecasts and cost control.
• Experience in vendor management and performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with logistics, customs clearance and inventory management.
• Capability to work closely with cross‑functional project teams.
