Process Equipment Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Process Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance and support activities on semiconductor process tools and related equipment in its Bangalore laboratory. The role involves troubleshooting, equipment readiness, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure high‑availability manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on semiconductor process tools and supporting equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve first‑level mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and utility issues.
• Respond to tool alarms, support equipment recovery, and coordinate equipment installation, startup, qualification, and relocation.
• Escalate complex problems to Equipment Engineers and OEM service teams, and assist in root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Verify operational readiness, track equipment uptime, PM compliance, and work‑order closure metrics.
• Follow EHS standards, cleanroom protocols, and LOTO procedures while identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3–8 years of experience in semiconductor or manufacturing equipment maintenance, with a preference for wafer‑fab exposure.
