Principal Engineer / Associate Director – Track

About the role

Lead the design of railway track systems for global projects, delivering high‑quality deliverables in Bentley and Autodesk environments while mentoring junior staff. The role focuses on increasing repeat business through consistent technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the production of track design packages from feasibility through construction, using both Plain Line and Switches & Crossings methodologies.
• Provide technical support and act as a senior advisor and mentor to less‑experienced team members.
• Develop study and design procedures, conduct interdisciplinary reviews, and ensure quality control of calculations, models, and drawings.
• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and contribute to engineering budgets and schedules.
• Maintain agility across dynamic project stages and may lead similar designs in other regions.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering; professional registration (PE, Chartered) or eligibility.
• 15+ years of track design experience on greenfield and brownfield international projects.
• Proficiency in Bentley ORD and Autodesk Civil3D, with strong knowledge of plain line, switches & crossings, earthworks modelling and quantity estimation.
• Solid understanding of AREMA standards, SiD, HSE regulations, and track construction methods.
• Proven ability to author technical reports, present designs, and perform design reviews.
