Pre-Underwriting Analyst

About the role

The Pre-Underwriting Analyst will review construction documents, analyze contractor budgets and contracts, and assess risk factors to support residential mortgage projects. The role involves close interaction with clients to gather missing information and ensure a smooth approval process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough reviews of construction documents and prepare detailed recommendation reports.
• Follow up with clients to collect missing documents and facilitate approvals.
• Analyze contractor budgets and contracts for suitability on residential projects.
• Verify contractor credentials, financial stability, and risk exposure.
• Identify potential insurance, licensing, and regulatory compliance risks.
• Make informed recommendations on contractor approvals, denials, or required conditions.
• Evaluate project feasibility by reviewing plans, budgets, contracts, appraisals, and surveys against loan amounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Excellent written communication with accurate grammar and punctuation.
• Strong business email etiquette and ability to respond promptly.
• Fluent English verbal communication with a neutral accent.
• Good analytical and cognitive skills with strong attention to detail.
• Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm and ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
