Physician Training in Occupational Health (6‑month program)

About the role

The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health offers a six‑month training programme for physicians who wish to specialise in occupational health services. The programme runs at the Institute’s five (actually six) locations across Finland and prepares participants to deliver occupational health care and translate research into practical workplace solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Complete a structured six‑month training curriculum covering occupational health theory and practice.
• Participate in multidisciplinary research projects and apply findings to real‑world workplace settings.
• Provide occupational health consultations and services under supervision.
• Collaborate with researchers, nurses, and other specialists across the Institute’s locations.

Required profile

• Medical doctor (physician) seeking specialisation in occupational health.
• Motivation to improve wellbeing for workers and society.
• Willingness to work in one of the Institute’s locations (Helsinki, Oulu, Kuopio, Tampere, Turku).
