PHE Engineer

About the role

The Public Health Engineering (PHE) Engineer will lead the design and documentation of water supply, sanitary, drainage, treatment and waste management systems for complex infrastructure projects such as metro stations, road tunnels, car parks and industrial buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed designs, Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and construction drawings for all PHE components.
• Review tender documents and develop accurate BOQs.
• Coordinate MEP design activities with architects, structural, electrical, ELV, piping, fire‑fighting and HVAC teams to ensure compliance with client expectations and cost efficiency.
• Manage vendor selection, review vendor documents and shop drawings, and obtain necessary approvals from clients, consultants and authorities.
• Visit project sites to verify designs and resolve any on‑site issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing Public Health Engineering systems for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Indian and international codes, statutory requirements and standards for PHE design.
• Strong teamwork and coordination skills across architecture, structure and other MEP disciplines.
• Knowledge of material specifications, installation, commissioning and operation‑maintenance of water, wastewater and solid‑waste treatment facilities.
• Understanding of green building norms.
