Pharmacy Specialist

About the role

The Pharmacy Specialist is a full‑time, on‑site position at Dhanvantri Hospital in Kanpur. The role involves dispensing medications, verifying dosages, ensuring regulatory compliance, compounding when needed, and managing pharmacy inventory. The specialist also counsels patients, collaborates with clinicians, supports pharmacy technicians, and contributes to quality‑assurance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications according to prescriptions and verify correct dosages.
• Prepare and oversee compounding of medications following safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate medication records and manage inventory, including ordering and storage.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use and address their queries.
• Coordinate with physicians and nurses to clarify prescriptions.
• Support pharmacy technicians in workflow management and ensure a clean, safe pharmacy environment.
• Participate in quality‑assurance and safety initiatives within the pharmacy.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of pharmacy practices, regulations, and safe medication dispensing.
• Experience supervising or working with pharmacy technicians in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Diploma or degree in Pharmacy with valid professional registration/licensure.
• Excellent customer‑service skills and ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and capacity to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
