Pharmacist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. The successful candidate will ensure accurate dispensing of medications, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide essential counseling to patients.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately according to valid prescriptions.
• Review prescriptions for completeness, dosage accuracy, drug interactions, and contraindications.
• Provide medication counseling on dosage, administration, storage, and side effects.
• Maintain records for dispensing, controlled drugs, and narcotics as required by law.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of medicines in line with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor expiry dates, remove expired or damaged stock, and manage inventory levels.
• Coordinate with the purchase department for replenishment and verify vendor deliveries.
• Participate in stock verification, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits.
• Report adverse drug reactions and medication errors per hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on medication‑related queries.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) – mandatory.
• Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
• Freshers or candidates with 1–5 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy.
• Ability to work rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, dosages, and dispensing practices.
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations and inventory management.
• Understanding of NABH standards and statutory pharmacy regulations.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or pharmacy software.
