People & Culture Executive

About the role
The People & Culture Executive will lead the hotel’s human resources function, ensuring a strategic blend of internal talent development and external recruitment to support Fairmont’s luxury hospitality standards. This role reports to senior management and works closely with department heads to foster a compliant, engaging, and high‑performing workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a systematic recruitment and selection process, including an internal and external candidate database.
- Prioritise internal development and promotion while using external recruitment as a backup.
- Apply external recruitment procedures to attract top talent from the market.
- Communicate and enforce employee in‑house rules, regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with departmental heads to ensure employee commitment to policies.
- Oversee the upkeep and cleanliness of employee facilities such as the staff restaurant, locker rooms and other designated areas.
- Ensure all People & Culture and administration practices comply with legal requirements and hotel philosophy.
- Maintain accurate statutory records and complete legal filings (e.g., ESI, PF, Apprenticeship Act, contract labour, employment exchange).
- Design and deliver training and development programmes aligned with organisational objectives.
- Manage performance appraisal systems and feedback mechanisms.
- Handle employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
- Administer compensation and benefits, ensuring precise payroll processing and timely communication.
- Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives to strengthen workplace culture.
Required profile
- Proven experience in HR management, preferably within hospitality or a comparable service‑focused industry.
- Strong knowledge of local labour legislation and statutory compliance (e.g., ESI, PF, Apprenticeship regulations).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training, performance management and employee engagement programmes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with senior leaders and staff.
- Detail‑oriented with a track record of maintaining accurate HR records and reports.
