Payments Manager – Merchant Acquiring

About the role

Bajaj Finance Ltd. is expanding its payments portfolio into QR acquiring. The Payments Manager will build the QR acquiring business from the ground up in a defined territory, hiring and leading a field sales team, and overseeing QR, SB and POS/EDC deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate a field sales team (FOS) to achieve productivity targets.
• Acquire merchants and drive QR, SB and POS/EDC deployments across the territory.
• Develop distribution channels, map coverage and manage channel relationships.
• Lead sales promotions with partners, ensure sales rigor and controllership.
• Monitor store activation, retailer payment reconciliation and visibility at points of sale.
• Deliver proof‑of‑concept for QR and EDC acquiring as a new venture.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of relevant experience (or graduate with 3‑6 years).
• Prior exposure to payments, FMCG or telecom prepaid sales.
• Experience handling merchant relationships directly.
• Strong communication, high energy and a self‑starter attitude.
• Willingness to work in the field and engage with retailers.
