Part-time PhD Peer Reviewer – Mechanics (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers with a PhD in Mechanics to join our editorial team as part-time peer reviewers. This remote, long-term position allows you to evaluate scholarly manuscripts, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up-to-date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and scientific validity.
• Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback to authors.
• Identify ethical issues, omissions, or methodological flaws.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent advanced degree in Mechanics or a closely related field.
• At least five peer-reviewed publications in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively while maintaining confidentiality.
• Prior experience reviewing for academic journals is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
