Overhead Line Engineer – 132kV Transmission Projects

About the role

We are looking for experienced Overhead Line Engineers to join our Energy Division and support 132kV transmission projects for clients in Scotland and across the UK. The role involves working on heavy wood‑pole construction, erection and conductor stringing on high‑voltage lines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver OHL projects for UK distribution and transmission operators, focusing on 33/66/132kV wood‑pole structures.
• Erect wood‑poles and string conductors safely and efficiently according to project specifications.
• Implement and maintain safe systems of work on site.
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with NEC forms of contract.
• Travel to remote sites on a 12/2 shift pattern and lodge away from home as required.

Required profile

• Proven track record of OHL project delivery in the UK.
• Experience with heavy wood‑pole construction at 33/66/132kV.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel and work on remote sites.
• Ability to work on a 12/2 shift pattern.

Required skills

• Wood‑pole erection and conductor stringing.
• Knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
• Implementation of safe systems of work.
