OT Technician

About the role

The incumbent will join the IM Support Team as an OT Technician, responsible for maintaining the integrity, availability and performance of information systems across operations. The role involves supporting infrastructure, hardware, software, applications and IoT devices while ensuring safety, accuracy and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain network, server and end‑user infrastructure, including troubleshooting, account maintenance and user training.
• Monitor, diagnose and resolve infrastructure, application and IoT‑related issues.
• Perform cross‑functional technical troubleshooting and industry‑standard testing procedures.
• Ensure timely ticket resolution with detailed feedback and adherence to SOPs and architecture documentation.
• Communicate technical solutions to non‑technical stakeholders and identify high‑risk areas for mitigation.
• Maintain compliance with HCL SLA requirements, internal policies and health & safety standards.
• Assist management in building a high‑performing team through feedback, KPI definition and knowledge transfer.
• Validate and submit financial inputs such as standby, overtime and PPE claims.

Required profile

• Completed Grade 12; undergraduate or postgraduate IT qualification is advantageous.
• Relevant technical certifications (A+, Network+, Dell/HP hardware, Cisco CCNA, MCSE) are preferred.
• Knowledge of optical fibre, IoT and security systems; project management certification is a plus.
