Operations Analyst – Payments Servicing

About the role

The Operations Analyst – Payments Servicing leads the resolution of complex, high‑risk payment discrepancies, ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. You will oversee investigations, mentor junior analysts and drive continuous process improvements within ANZ’s Payments Investigation team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex payment investigations across multiple jurisdictions, analysing high‑value and escalated discrepancies to deliver timely, accurate resolutions.
• Ensure all investigations comply with regulatory requirements, internal controls and audit standards, minimizing financial and reputational risk.
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, banking partners and clients to resolve critical payment issues and manage escalations.
• Mentor and support team members by reviewing case quality, providing guidance to junior analysts and fostering knowledge sharing.
• Identify recurring issues, perform root‑cause analysis and recommend process improvements, contributing to automation initiatives and data‑driven reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in payments, transaction processing or banking operations within banking, fintech or corporate treasury.
• Strong knowledge of payment operations and relevant regulatory frameworks such as AML, KYC, OFAC and data‑privacy standards.
• Proven ability to manage high‑pressure investigations and deliver results in a fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
