Oil Operations Operator – Trading Support (Bengaluru)

About the role

The Oil Operations Operator will provide end‑to‑end operational support for physical oil trading activities focused on African markets. Based in Bengaluru, you will coordinate with terminals, suppliers and clients to ensure accurate, compliant and timely execution of trades.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client onboarding, KYC verification and maintain compliant records before any transaction.
• Oversee contract lifecycle: upload, system booking, monitor aging and trigger escalations.
• Capture and validate transaction data (business unit, cost centre, commodity) with full documentation.
• Execute daily invoicing, multi‑currency reconciliations and apply payments accurately.
• Prepare client statements, trader reports and maintain KPI dashboards.
• Ensure SOP, cut‑off and compliance adherence, including reconciliations with counterparties.
• Track inventory, reconcile stock movements across African terminals and process adjustments (CNs/DNs).
• Monitor contract execution, payment tracking and send nomination confirmations post‑funding.
• Support month‑end closing, GP reconciliation, contract rollover and audit readiness.
• Identify and raise non‑compliance issues, aging contracts and operational risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, engineering, finance, supply chain or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in oil/commodity trading operations.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms (mandatory).
• Experience with East or Southern Africa markets is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with marine logistics, terminal operations and trade finance instruments (LCs, pre‑payments).
