About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a New Product Manufacturing Engineer to develop and release new product BOMs for complex modules, drive manufacturing and test strategies, and support product introductions in the semiconductor and display equipment business.
Key responsibilities
- Independently develop, implement and release new product BOMs for complex modules and product structures.
- Work with stakeholders to create manufacturing, test and sourcing strategies for new products.
- Manage development and validation of Operation Method Sheets (OMS) for medium‑complexity modules.
- Perform 3D solid‑model virtual analysis, including Master Layout (MLO) and Digital Mock‑Up (DMU).
- Participate in design reviews, providing DFA, DFAe, DFTp, ITO and efficiency feedback to meet cost, quality and cycle‑time goals.
- Orchestrate change requests and execute change control processes (NSRs, ECOs, CCB, SPSs, ESWs).
- Document product issues, conduct Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA) and lead long‑term corrective actions.
- Lead managed build processes and provide technical support/training to manufacturing resources and suppliers.
Required profile
- Demonstrated functional knowledge of manufacturing engineering disciplines and related areas.
- Understanding of business best practices, market competition and integration with other functions.
- Leadership ability to mentor less‑experienced colleagues and lead small, low‑risk projects.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing multiple information sources.
- Impact‑oriented mindset influencing customer, operational and project activities.
- Effective interpersonal communication to convey sensitive information and build consensus.
Required skills
- Intermediate knowledge of NPME (New Product Manufacturing Engineering) role.
- BOM development and release for complex products.
- 3D solid‑modeling, Master Layout (MLO) and Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) analysis.
- Design for Assembly (DFA/DFAe) and Design for Test planning (DFTp).
- Engineering change management (ECO, NSR, CCB, SPS, ESW).
- Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA) and Long‑Term Corrective Action (LTCA) processes.
