About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a New Product Manufacturing Engineer in Bangalore to develop, implement, and release new product BOMs for complex semiconductor and display modules. The role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to drive manufacturing, test, and sourcing strategies while ensuring product quality and cost efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Independently develop, implement, and release new product BOMs for complex modules and product structures.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement manufacturing, test, and sourcing strategies for new products.
- Manage development and validation of Operation Method Sheets (OMS) for medium‑complex modules.
- Perform 3D solid model virtual analysis, including Master Layout (MLO) and Digital Mock Up (DMU).
- Participate in design reviews, providing DFA, DFTp, ITO, and operational efficiency feedback.
- Orchestrate change requests and execute change control processes such as NSRs, ECOs, CCB, SPSs, and ESWs.
- Document product issues, conduct Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA), and lead long‑term corrective actions (LTCA).
- Lead the managed build process and provide technical support and training to manufacturing resources and suppliers.
Required profile
- Intermediate knowledge of the NPME role with ability to work independently.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, and use hand/power tools; clean‑room PPE may be required.
- Conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline with basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Understanding of best practices, market competition, and integration across functional areas.
Required skills
- Experience with BOM development and release for complex products.
- Proficiency in 3D solid modeling and virtual analysis (Master Layout, Digital Mock Up).
- Knowledge of Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Test (DFTp), and ITO methodologies.
- Familiarity with change control processes (ECO, CCB, NSR, SPS, ESW).
- Ability to perform Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA) and manage long‑term corrective actions (LTCA).
