Molding Junior Engineer I

About the role

The Molding Junior Engineer I supports Jabil’s molding department by assisting senior engineers with process optimization, troubleshooting, and documentation. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with injection molding operations and the opportunity to develop core engineering skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in setting up and optimizing injection molding parameters and monitoring production runs.
• Collect and analyze process data to identify trends and support continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot molding defects, determine root causes, and work with production and quality teams to implement solutions.
• Support preventive maintenance programs for molding equipment.
• Document molding processes, work instructions, and engineering changes.
• Apply design‑for‑manufacturability principles to molded components.
• Participate in new product introductions, including mold trials and validation activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with injection molding processes and machinery.
• Basic understanding of plastic materials and their properties.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Eagerness to learn and develop engineering expertise.
• Capability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
