Mobile Test Automation Engineer

About the role

Persistent is looking for a Mobile Test Automation Engineer to design and maintain scalable automation frameworks for Android and iOS applications. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality releases and help adopt AI‑enabled testing practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mobile automation frameworks using Appium.
• Build UI automation scripts for native, hybrid and web‑based mobile apps.
• Execute tests on cloud device farms such as BrowserStack.
• Create API automation scripts and perform regression and functional testing.
• Identify, log and track defects throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with developers, QA leads and product owners in an Agile environment.
• Support the adoption of AI‑driven testing tools (e.g., Codex, Cline).

Required profile

• 5–9 years of professional experience in mobile test automation.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Appium and mobile platforms (Android & iOS).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java or JavaScript.
• Experience with Playwright or Selenium for web/hybrid app testing.
• Familiarity with cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
• Exposure to AI‑assisted testing tools is a plus.
