Middle Office Assistant – Global Markets

About the role

The Middle Office Assistant will join HSBC's Global Markets Middle Office team, providing essential support for transaction processing, data analytics, and client onboarding. This non‑revenue‑generating role ensures smooth operations across Forex and other deal types within a 24‑hour global market environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process day‑to‑day transaction flow for Forex and other deals.
• Input new deals and post‑trade events into bank systems.
• Perform transaction approvals, daily and end‑of‑day checks, and reconciliations.
• Support client onboarding by preparing documentation and hedging paperwork.
• Generate ad‑hoc MIS reports and collate data for analytics.
• Share best practices and provide on‑the‑job training to the wider team.

Required profile

• Graduation degree (minimum).
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong time‑management and multitasking abilities to meet deadlines.
• Ability to build excellent rapport with other departments and jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated alignment with HSBC values.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
• Power BI experience, with macro programming preferred.
• Basic coding skills to improve data processing.
• Familiarity with typical onboarding documents and regulations (preferred).
