Mid-Level Urban Designer

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Mid-Level Urban Designer to join its urban planning team in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. You will work on city‑level and regional projects, shaping master plans and development strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare master plans, development plans and urban design proposals for city‑wide and regional projects.
• Conduct land‑use analysis, zoning studies, infrastructure assessments and urban growth projections.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, transportation planners and engineers.
• Support the preparation of DPRs, feasibility studies, policy documents and planning reports.
• Develop GIS‑based planning analysis, spatial mapping and data interpretation.
• Participate in stakeholder consultations, client meetings and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with local planning regulations, development control regulations and statutory requirements.
• Assist in project implementation, monitoring and coordination with government agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning or Town Planning.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in urban planning, master planning or infrastructure projects.
• Experience on government, smart‑city, township or urban development projects.
• Strong report writing, analytical and presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of Indian urban planning policies, regulations and development frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in GIS.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Familiarity with planning software/tools.
