Medical Secretary

About the role

The Medical Secretary will provide administrative support to the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS) team within the Business Services Division. Reporting to the Secretarial Supervisor, you will manage a busy workload and ensure timely completion of tasks in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise and manage daily secretarial duties, including correspondence, scheduling and document handling.
• Provide cross‑cover for colleagues across various clinical and administrative disciplines.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist with the preparation of reports, minutes and other documentation required by the SACCS team.
• Support the team in meeting tight timescales and service delivery targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and cover multiple disciplines.
