Medical Officer – Sexual Health (MBBS)

About the role

DrSafeHands is seeking a full‑time MBBS Medical Officer to join its Bengaluru team. You will deliver confidential, evidence‑based sexual health and STI care to patients through in‑person consultations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical consultations, including history taking, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment of STIs following established protocols.
• Counsel patients on sexual health, preventive measures and treatment adherence while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Order laboratory tests, interpret results, and coordinate with lab personnel.
• Document all patient encounters accurately in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians, counselors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in internal training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement of clinical pathways and patient experience.

Required profile

• MBBS degree from a recognized institution and valid registration with the relevant medical council.
• Empathetic communication style with a non‑stigmatizing approach to sexual and reproductive health.
• Ability to train junior staff, counselors or support personnel.
• Experience with minor clinical procedures is an advantage.
• Prior exposure to sexual health, STI clinics, dermatology, gynecology, urology or public health is preferred.
• Fluency in English and at least one regional language (Kannada or Hindi).
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records, clinical guidelines and infection‑control protocols.
• Willingness to work full‑time on‑site in Bengaluru.
